Our Champions Unlimited High School Team delivered an impressive 4-0 victory over Qatar, showing just how quickly this new group is embracing the Champions Unlimited culture. Their growth has been remarkable as they’ve committed to learning our blocking systems, trusting one another to close seams and execute assignments with discipline. They’ve also bought into our serve receive system by establishing early platforms, moving their feet with purpose, and creating consistent first contacts that allow us to run our offense. Just as importantly, this team has embraced being overly communicative—constantly talking before, during, and after every play—which has become one of their greatest strengths. Their willingness to trust the process, communicate relentlessly, and play for each other is transforming them into a disciplined, connected, and confident team.
A tremendous amount of credit goes to Head Coach Tim Johnson and four-time Olympian Dave Smith, whose leadership, teaching, and passion for developing young athletes have accelerated this group’s growth. Their ability to instill the Champions Unlimited systems and culture has this team improving every single day, and it’s exciting to watch these athletes build habits that will serve them long after this tour.
