Every great international trip seems to have one unforgettable story.
For us, it was Leo’s suitcase.
After somehow deciding to embark on its own European adventure, Leo’s bag disappeared shortly after our arrival and became the running joke of the trip. Every day someone would ask, “Any update on Leo’s bag?” Every airport notification brought a little hope, only to end with another delay. The suitcase quickly became part of the team’s daily conversations, and by the end of the week it had almost taken on legendary status.
Then, after nine days of waiting…
Just when everyone had accepted that the suitcase might be permanently enjoying its own European vacation…
It finally arrived!
The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. The team celebrated almost as much as if we had won another match, and Leo was finally reunited with everything that had been chasing us across Europe.
It was the perfect ending to a trip that seemed to have a little bit of everything—world-class volleyball, unforgettable friendships, incredible coaching, breathtaking scenery, lifelong memories… and one very determined suitcase that refused to follow the itinerary.
As we pack up and head home, we leave Slovenia with bronze medals around our necks, friendships that will last a lifetime, and countless stories we’ll be telling for years to come.
Thank you to every player, parent, coach, and supporter who made this journey so special.
